EVERQUEST 2 SERVER NAMES REVEALED. THE PLANE OF TORMENT SERVER TO OPEN RELEASE DAY.

A number of the fancy corporate websites with their fancy radio station and fancy McDonalds sponsorship (yes, I want a radio and free burgers too, dammit) are reporting that the EQ2 server names have been released for consumption. The link that supposedly holds this information is down, but keep an eye on it once the bulletin boards and EQ2 Players site are up.

Antonia
Bayle
Befallen
Blackburrow
Crushbone
Guk
Mistmoore
Najena Permafrost
Runnyeye
Storms (French)
Unrest
Valor (German)

So, there are 12 servers. If EQ2 plans on trying to emulate EQLive and have 60,000 (taken as an average number when EQLive server numbers were public information) people playing across all servers, it means we're looking at 5,000 people per server at the one time. That's a bit of a leap from where other big MMORPGs sit these days. And after all the lag and crashes EQ2 has been going through? But that's what paid beta is for, right? - To test server load at release.

With these names revealed, we can now start to get a better feel for what players and guilds will go to what server. Chances are Blackburrow will be overpopulated and camped, Runnyeye and Najena will be underpopulated except for two guys trying to retrieve their corpses and move to another server, and the French will instead flock to Guk to play with the frogs.
