I don't understand why anyone is surprised; I've been expecting it for years. Can't expect the game devs to keep screaming about moral purity while IGE is buying up their fansites. Trying to stop out of game item trading is be like trying to stop music piracy; it isn't going to happen, ever, so you might as well roll with the blow.
All for it. The only people agaisnt it are "losers" (had to do it. I've been called a loser for not having time to play so many times) who don't have a dime to their name and have tons of free time. You know the same people who sell their accounts.
I've never sold anything or farmed anything but you can bet your ass I've literally spent thousands of dollars just attempting to keep up.
Money can not even keep up with time in game. Got any questions? Please ask.
Buying plat is all I've ever done as the potential to get fucked on a character was to great and the cost too high for the risk. I've known too many people who Ebay powerleveled... Sold an account then stole it back a few months later, leveled and regeared.
Get a grip here guys. The buying and selling has been and will continue to occur. Why? I'm paying for fun in EQ. Do you have any idea what my characters would be like after six years of four hours a week (Hell, I've gone entire months numerus times without playing.)playing? I enjoy the game just don't want to spend 20 Fucking hours a week playing. Here have $200 so I can buy minimal bazaar gear inorder that I might you know, spend my in game time playing rather than doing corpse recoveries.
Heheh, about time, I don't see anything wrong with it. It actualy makes more sense to spend 8 hrs per day at a second job making IRL money and then taking that money and buying a char/gear ... why... its simply more efficient then wasting the rest of that time in game... unless of course you enjoy wasting that time, then you are all good and probly will be the one ebaying the junk =) besides... people can sell their boogers, theres no law on that, so as far as im concerned they can sell their pixels too... and I garantee that if you go the second job route and buy ebay... you will probly have like 1000's of dollars left over (at least try for something better then Macland as your second job)... unless you are just so *****ssed out (non-functional, aka looser) that ou can't get a second job heh.... then I recommend saving your EQ money/monthly online bills for cybernetics/lobotomy... whatever it takes to make you functional member of the world...

Of course I enjoy wasting that time. It's called "playing"! If you don't enjoy the time you spend in the game, then maybe you should go and do something else?
Would you *REALLY* want to ban someone willing to spend thousands of dollars on your game?
Now the person making that money off you game, I can see banning them and wanting to get rid of them but the guy on the $ flow side? What are you going to do with me?
Someone take my money please! Okay. Who wants it?
BTW, *IF* I had the time I could two box far cheaper and it would pay off far better than buying plat (and hopefully soon a Avatar). I just don't have the time. Money? Take my money? I enjoy this game, no time... Money? Take my money? someone? Anyone?
Someone is going to take my money. Count on it. You ain't going to ban be either that'd be Fn stupid, as the point of your life is to take my money or did you forget that?
Well from Smed's post, was it 40% of CS issues were fraud related. By doing this you can have your CS staff getting back to what they should be doing. Also you cut out all the 3rd party companies, why bother with eBay or IGE, when you can go secure through the vendor (Sony). Giving people a choice of servers in the future would be a good thing, the anti trade customers can have their own servers. Everyone is happy :p
"would you ask your opponent in a game of poker if you could buy an ace?"
If he has five hours to look at his hand and list of percentages on the value of that hand and a list of percentages of what I may be holding and you have one second to look at yours? Damn right I would.
Why the fuck is it okay for one play to have the advantage of 24/7 play time and it not okay for me to buy that time? Jesus Christ you're just jealous. ;^)
Erm, is it April 1st?

it's cool because now all the people who are willing to cheat to win will be segregated onto their own server..
and yes i believe its cheating to buy stuff from ebay, would you ask your opponent in a game of poker if you could buy an ace?
